Graphical User Interface for USGS Branch-Network (BRANCH) Dynamic Flow Model

Information

This program is a windows interface for BRANCH 4.3 . You can download BRANCH 4.3 documentation in Postscript format by clicking on the link. WINBRANCH provides an interactive environment for creation and modification of BRANCH-model input files. WINBRANCH is currently under development -- the software linked to this page is in the testing phase. Feel free to experiment with this software by downloading the PC version of WINBRANCH as identified below that is compatible with your operating system. Please e-mail comments and suggestions to rws@usgs.gov. To report bugs, please e-mail a description of the problem (including error messages that were displayed) along with any pertinent data files to rws@usgs.gov.

Notice to users: This product is not 100% reliable and could corrupt your existing BRANCH-model input files. It is strongly advised to make backup copies of all existing BRANCH input files before importing them into WINBRANCH.

Notes

The old 8-digit station format is not supported within WINBRANCH. Existing control files must be modified to conform to the new 16-digit format prior to importing into WINBRANCH.

Help buttons do not currently function.

If WINBRANCH is loaded on an NT server, it may be accessed by UNIX workstations through the following commands:

xhost NT_server_id
rsh NT_server_id wincenter -display host_id:0.0

If these commands do not establish a connection, contact your Windows NT administrator for assistance.
